Even though Bend is quite a drive from the coast surfing has become quite popular over this past winter for Central Oregon residents. Just a 20 minute drive south of Bend in the small town of Sunriver is Mavericks; the home of Central Oregon's finest waves. Chris has been lucky enough to spend some time at the local surf spot with some buddies. Check out these photos from this past weekend. Who knew Chris had those crazy surfing skills? He was rippin' it up for hours .

As the snow slowly melts off and the sun shines longer people are spending more and more time outdoors and one of the highest requested items we get here at Gear Peddler is disc golf items. It seems like almost everyday I get a phone call or an e-mail from somebody looking to buy some kind of disc golf item wether it's new or used discs, baskets, targets or bags. I usually have to turn them away and send them to one of the local retailers. So if you're one of those people with stacks and stacks of discs that you don't throw and are interested in getting some money for them bring them down to the Gear Peddler, we take consignment items on a daily basis and should be able to get you some quick cash for your used or new discs.

March is almost over, but winter is showing no signs of leaving. Check out these local pictures. The first is a shot from just around the corner of the shop. The second is a picture from Mt. Bachelor's West Village Lodge. Bachelor got 6 inches of fresh powder so far today and they could recieve 6 more before the day ends. Chris just called from the Pine Marten Lodge and gave his on mountain report. He says the wind is gusty, but the snow powdery and fast. It reminds him of Colorado. About two weeks ago Chris sold his cherished Transition Bottlerocket only to realize he no longer had a bike to ride. After a couple of quick phone calls to our buddies at Transition Chris was able to get a new bike. Over the past few days it's slowly come together, and today it's finally completed. Check it out.

Well it's sad to say, but winter is almost over here in Central Oregon. The weather is getting warmer (except for last nights snow fall) and we're getting our first shipments of new bikes from Free Agent, KHS, Phat Cycles and Transition. We're also recieveing a good amount of used bikes that won't break your budget. We are taking consignment items on a daily basis, so stop on by and bring us some of your gear, we'll help clear out that garage and get you some new toys.
